Genre
AFRO WORLD FOLK / CAMEROUN / US
BiographY
Sharing Grandmothers is a unique musical show, a sensitive tribute to African and Afro-descendant women, particularly to their elders – artists, activists and ordinary people – promoting their legacy and sharing their values.
Performed by two exceptional and moving voices, Cameroonian LORNOAR and Haitian Inez BARLATIER, the work is directed by Carlos CABALLERO, illuminated by the visuals of Randy VALDES and the musical arrangements of Pavel URKIZA, all three of Cuban origin.
The repertoire is sewn with personal and original compositions of the vocalists that they perform passionately surrounded by 3 great multi-instrumentalists (in total 5 on stage + tour manager) who make traditional and modern rhythms sound from their guitars, bass, balafon, cajón, mvet, knuls and other percussions.
Sharing Grandmothers is a moving, impactful and educational show, an ode to African values and the women who perpetuate them .
